Default FPC log auction dates for 2010 announced

As you all know, the Forest Products Commission (FPC) regularly makes specialty timber logs available to the general public through auction.

Dates for our 2010 auctions have been announced and are as follows:

    • 6 March 2010
    • 22 May 2010
    • 14 August 2010
    • 6 November 2010

The auctions are held at the FPC Harvey Mill (64 Weir Road, Harvey) and commence at 1000hrs sharp. We'll be making sure to remind you here closer to the dates, as well as provide details of the products up for auction.

Logs are produced from around the State; many salvaged from various land clearing projects i.e. mining and roading. Extensive selections of species are usually offered, ranging from the precious Goldfields timbers to our highly featured southwest species.

Auction lot sizes are designed to accommodate small commercial operators, craftspeople and hobbyist requiring logs or small amounts of craftwood.

More information is available from our website at:
Forest Products Commission: Products and services: Contracts, auctions and tenders: Auctions

If you're a Facebook user, you can also get event reminders there as well as keeping in touch with FPC news and information via either Facebook or Twitter:

On Facebook - Forest Products Commission, Western Australia | Facebook
On Twitter - Forest Products (fpcwa) on Twitter

    Kind regards,

    Michael H

There's a lot of 'wood' on twitter, and we have a couple of lists of twitter accounts you can follow to keep up to date with forestry news. These are:
    Twitter / @fpcwa/Australia-Gov-Forestry and Twitter / @fpcwa/US-Gov-Forestry.

We're looking to add some additional lists soon of woodworking companies and suppliers, but there are down the track.

To my knowledge, no - but we've not done any really deep research into this as its outside our area of concern. If there is, I'm sure some of the esteemed members of this forum will chime in with the details.
