Matt, looks like the Heavy Taper is one step wider than the Regular taper, one step being 1/16"

Pictures they will appear on the TTTG website in due course. A good sale with almost 500 paying customers and almost 80 tables of sellers. I exercised considerable restraint (and was working most of the time anyway) and did not buy the Stanley #5 with a Holtey blade for $80.

For those in Sydney, you can get a flying start on saw sharpening by attending the next TTTG saw sharpening workshop

I also bought some calipers to go with my chisels for when I get a lathe. I'll start a new thread for that stuff soon.

    Enjoy

    Dirk

That's a very nice saw: Very tidy. I assume that there is no visible etch at the moment. I think it is almost certainly a D100 as the "Philada" medallion only went to 1917, well before the advent of the D112. The No.112 had a completely different handle.

However nothing is ever completely without doubt and I am always reluctant to bet body parts except on a dead cert!

Did you get some other saws too or was that the old fellah?

    Default File Cleaning.

    Hi All,
Haven't got to far with this File Resharpening.
Now have some Sulphuric Acid, but it has been a bit to hot to try it out.
I have in fact, had a go at cleaning a few Files with the Flattened Nail.
So, the more you run the Nail over the File, it really grooves the nail.
The one thing I learnt is to hold the Nail up at only a few Deg. & you may have to go over the File again.I also used some good lighting, & Magnifying Glasses which makes it so much easier.
You wood not think you could get so much rubbish from cleaning a File with a Flat Nail.
This weekend maybe the go for trying the S/A & B/Soda & water of course.
What do you all use to clean a saw blade with, as I have some with a bit of rust on them.
Will there be a Microwave Oven to use, & a bit of cover to sleep under.
    Regards,
    issatree.

    That's good!

I would normally bring sufficient 12v and 240v power in the back of my ute, along with refrigeration and lighting but due to an unfortunate run of circumstances yesterday the bullbar of the ute is now about a foot closer to the firewall than I normally like it and I will probably need a new ute.

    Cheers

Not long to go now people, just over or is under 7 weeks to go I'm excited.
I haven't been active here because I don't have much to add yet.
Tho, I will add more as we get closer to the date.
I will also pm everyone with address details extra too.

Saw files seem to be an on going discussion ,and I think it always will be.
Seen some pics of saws coming.
Saw vices I now have two, a large wooden one donated to me by Thumbsucker(Thank you sir)
And a small cast iron one .

As mentioned we will be feeding you .
If any one has any special needs please let me know(no smart replies needed)
And we will try to accommodate.

Evenings we can sit out side around the fire pit .
And tell big fat stories .
Or you can choose to watch one of Sally's three hundred odd DVDs .
Yes we have TV as well .
    Will provide pop corn .
Please any questions or any way I can help with regarding the weekend let me know .

I think I stop rambling on now .

Matt looking forward to sharp saws .
