do you know why they were a no show at the Sydney show?
I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.

Trouble is, will the Melb show be worth going to:confused: Last year it was terrible and a waste of admission money. Its just a big shop with prices no better than you can bargain with directly at the shop. And the biggest dissapointment by far is their is hardly any furniture exibited.

I agree somewhat with Lignum as last year's show, whilst interesting, didn't offer offer much for the punter.
I bought some nice Camphor Laurel, but when trying to buy a couple of 12" T/S blades I simply gave up because of the length of the queue (one register only!)
Nevertheless, it gave me a chance to catch up with some other forumites, to have a lust over a few tools - and as I went on the Friday, it surely beat the usual work stuff

What does the Henry Bros. stand contain?
I am not trying to be smart (its a Friday night), but I wouldn't expect that they would be able to cater for the large number of bandsaw blades in odd sizes (such as the BP16a at 2950mm). I guess they may also have ts blades?
Anybody seen it before? Now proudly sponsored by Binford Tools. Be sure to check out the Binford 6100 - available now at any good tool retailer.

Some strict guidelines on who can exhibit sounds like a good idea. I'd rather see an empty stall (or one with a display of woodworking by a club, having been given the space for free), than have to walk past some place begging to "polish my workboots"
I wonder - as a semi literate, and semi organised group, is there some way members of the forum could influence decisions etc of the show organisers? The focus needs to return to woodworking, displaying raw materials, jigs, equipment, tools & consumables through to finish products (comp winners etc), and of course demonstrations."Clear, Ease Springs"
