Hi in the Woodworkwork Forum, I am looking at interest at making a hercus 9" lathe register

NO BIG BROTHER COMMITMENTS
The basics as simple and probably are already on the Forum
A. User name (ONLY)
B. Serial Number
C. Condition and any mods
D.How long have you had the lathe
E.Colour if original or state otherwise
F. Are you prepared to help a newbie with a problem
G.Places to buy S/H parts or lathes for sale

And that is it nothing that says who you are where you live just basically the same details that is alredy on the Forum

The main reason is the old Hercus is making a bit of a comeback with quite a few on eBay and plenty of people wanting to use them for either wood or metal
Whether it is wood or Metal it is still a Hercus that is doing the job so I am leaving that alone

As I own 2 lathes a 1941 and a 1948 I am restoring to a useable and clean condition truth be known 10 months and neither yet run but a nice coat of zinc cadinuim plating stops the rust

So does anybody have a interest ?? this is purely for the Newbies who can email a member with a lathe whose serial number is close to do Troubleshooting or ask for help

I have emailed the man at the top NOT GOD
THE WEBMASTER

to see if we can have a shootoff of theforum just for the hercus 9"lathe as this way all questions will be on one site from both wood and metal plus parts for sale as woodwokers would never use all the tools the Hercus came out with and a few extra bucks always helps

Well I am done I am not afraid of Big Brother so any queries please email me on
[email protected]
I also live 5klms away from Newmac Hercus Distributor in Victoria they have no S/H parts only new of what is left and the later hercus as well which still used a lot of the 9" parts
So please let me know your thoughts as the Metal guys are starting to see it is not a way of getting info for Big Brother just a way to Register and to help

all the best Derek bitza500
