HTPSWA Tool Sale.
The Hand Tool Preservation Society of WA, will be conducting a tool sale of vintage, user and collectible tools on Sunday August 16th, 2020.
To be held at the West Swan Hall, West Swan Rd, Henley Brook. 9am - 3pm.
We are planning on having pot plants for sale also.
Dependant on WA remaining relatively Covid 19 free, social distancing rules current at the time to be complied with.
Any change will be posted here.
See you there.
Geoff.

Any chance of some photos for the rest of us over east.
The Sydney Sale was canned and Melbourne has missed two.
I won’t be flying over as a few WA tool freaks did to one of my sales here in Sydney.
Don’t remember the year but it was the sale at Hunters Hill High School.
It was early and we were still setting up and two blokes wanted in.
I was probably fairly abrupt until we got talking and they said they’d taken a cab from the airport after an early flight from Perth.
Cant remember if I let them in or not?

It wasn't me though I did attend one year at the Brickpit Stadium.
We're going to have to be very careful, because it's not a very big venue, we may have to have a doorman regulate the number of attendees if we get too many. We haven't held a tool sale for a number of years due to declining patronage, but the current situation, of cancelled events, may see increased interest.
I'll bring my camera.
Cheers,
Geoff.

UPDATE.
We had hoped the WA Gov't would lift the Phase 4 restrictions before the 16th but that's not going to happen.
The capacity of the venue is 40 people, this means there may be a wait outside before you can enter. We are hoping, dependant on the weather, to have some sales and displays outside under our own 3x3 shade gazebos. The forecast this far out is not good with rain predicted.
Our last tool sale, which I think was at the Guildford Hall in 2017, was a dismal affair with very few visitors, which is the reason for our discontinuing them. We always get good patronage at the WA Wood Show, but due to that not happening this year we thought that reviving our tool sales might work.
Be warned, if it is popular you may be stuck outside for a while, so please try and stay friendly and polite, we have tools and we're not afraid to use them.
Cheers,
Geoff.

Despite the constant rain, accompanied by a thunder storm, we were pretty happy with the way the day went. Steady stream of visitors all day with no overcrowding or ill-humour. There were a lot of nice old tools went out the door.
Cheers,
Geoff.
