So reading all this I should buy a pressure reducing valve from Supercheap ( about $ 25.00) to reduce the air pressure of my existing plumbed system to dust myself of safely. A lot cheaper.

I already have a spare one in the workshop as they are much better for bending acrylics than a heatgun, so on the cool air they could works as well as that machine. Good thinking.

Or you could buy a $20 barrel vacuum (the old Hoover ones are good), plug the hose into the other end and you have a blow down machine. It even has a brush adapter for those tricky spots.

They look very similar to some units I first saw in San Diego at Sea World. They had then Budweiser Clydesdales there pulling their big cart with the Budweiser wooden beer barrels similar to the Carlton Clydesdales you see at our larger Agricultural shows.

The used a similar looking unit to blow the dust off the horses when they were grooming them. Those horses were in magnificent condition and that blower was an intrigal part of the grooming operation.

I have seen them used in OZ for grooming stud beef cattle at shows. This seeems a logical add on for industrial use.

No offence people but a $20, 20 year old vacuum cleaner with a hose on the wrong end is still a $20, 20 year olf vacuum cleaner witha hose on the wrong end and will not be pumping out 2.5psi constantly for the next 20 years.

If the item doesn't interest you and you have no need for it then why bother flaming it?

(Do you offer a 20 year warranty? I couldn't find anything about warranty in your earlier post)

Since you asked, this is a wood working forum where wood workers of all skill and experience levels can talk and exchange ideas. We regularly offer alternative ways to do something and recommend cheaper or more affordable equipment to get the job done. I can't see how that is flaming your product.

This is the Announcements forum where a manufacturer is ADVISED that they can announce a new product.

Sorry guys, but IMHO picking it apart and suggesting ways for others to make something similar for a few bucks is not really in keeping with the intent of this particular forum. It is also the best way to make sure other manufacturers steer clear of here.

Make your comments by all means, but please make them in another forum where it is appropriate.

I've got my poo suit on, so fire away

Sorry but I strongly disagree with your comments.

    It is:
A forum for ALL WOODWORKERS.Tell the world about your new product, service, web site, whatever. Announce upcoming woodies events, meetings, exhibitions, etc.
So you can tell the world about your product etc, BUT it does not preclude comments, questions, criticisms, alternatives etc by other members. If the Announcement forum was meant to prohibit such posts then it should have been stated as such.

So obviously the forum gods when establishing this forum felt that posts such as ours would be appropriate.

Sounds like spin to me Peter. Do you honestly think people will be encouraged to post new tools if this is the reception they get?

....BUT it does not preclude comments, questions, criticisms, alternatives etc by other members
If they put in a full list of things not to do it would be a thousand pages long.

    A forum for ALL WOODWORKERS.
    Is Dynamic Eng a woodworker?

The only posts he has made is promoting his product. i hate people who just come here to make a buck and contribute nothing to the forum.

so we can only post good comments about stuff now can we dose this new rule apply to the whole forum or just this thread?

everyone is entitled to an opinion and should be able to express it.

These posts may affect the amount of money "Dynamic Eng" will make but thy will also save the money of countless members of the forum.

if we all lived by the rule "if you dont have anything good to say dont say anything at all" Then how would we know what we were good and bad at Kevin Rudd might have even become captain of the aussie cricket team and that would be a sad day for us all.

    Again I disagree Greg.

I have again read the FAQ's as they regard to forum useage and posting messages and the sticky in regards to contents of posts. These are quite specific and all encompassing and are not that long that they could not be extended to include any prohibiton on posts such as mine on this specific forum if that is the case.

Nowhere can I see that I breached these rules and guidelines with my post to suggest a cheaper alternative.

If a new tool is announced that would be used by forum members then I'm sure that it would receive an appropriate response.

But the product here is not something that would be used by ordinary forum members as the manufacturer said in this thread.

BTW it is interesting to note that even a moderator participated in questioning the value of this machine. I'm only following in the moderator's footsteps.

I fail to see what this post has to do with the substance of this thread which has now been exhumed after having been buried for over 10 years.

Maybe this thread ought to have been left Resting In Peace in the graveyard of old and no longer interesting posts.
