    I was fortunate enough to step in to this time warp a few years ago. It is quite simply fantastic. I still can't comprehend how this little piece of history has survived ..... and is still working?
    I wholeheartedly recommend that, if you have any interest in woodwork, industrial or social history, you really should make the effort to get there!

    I have driven past it hundreds of times so I guess I had better go and have a look. Thanks for the opportunity.

    Being from down south I won't be able to go.

    I'm sure myself and many others would appreciate a photo tour on the forum from any that are able to attend.

    So I took some photos with the trusty 'phone. Sorry about the poor angles and composition- it was rather crowded!
    I concentrated on machines I'd consider 'out of the ordinary'.
    First up; a tenon making machine. Luton Tool Co, Luton England:

    In my ignorance I would call this a thicknesser / planer, but note it has edge cutters (fearsome square heads!),
    so I don't know the proper name...

    These photos are of the site c.1929/30 when the workshop burnt down. They show how the flat belt line shafting was originally arranged. The (gas?) engine and machines were on tall plinths to lift them through the floor above the basement. Most of the belts and shafting were neatly under the floor boards.

    A couple of the machines had these transfers/ decals on them;
