Kilmore Art Expo
Next weekend, Sat. 10th and Sun. 11th at Kilmore Memorial Hall
they are having an Art Expo with hundreds of paintings plus
Photography, Ceramics, Jewellery and woodturning on show
and for sale.
Northern Woodturners Club will be the exhibitor for woodturning
where I have gained some 60 pieces from our members to
showcase our work. The Rotary Club and Kilmore Art Society
get to keep 10% of sales and our members get the remainder.
This is our first try at such an event and feel quite happy
as it was by invitation only.
Official opening is Friday night at 7.00pm which includes a
catalogue, door prize ticket and refreshments. Guest speaker
will be the CEO of the Children First Foundation, Margaret
Smith. Cost $15.00 RSVP by April 7th by phone if interested.
Contacts: Jeanette Jain (5782 1630) or Andrea Willis (5782 0005).
On the Saturday and Sunday the general public are invited
... doors open from 10am to 4pm on both days. Admission is
$6.00 or $4.00 with a concession card.
Hope to see you there.

Spent Friday night, Saturday and Sunday at the Expo and had
a wonderful time.
Met visiting woodies from Eltham Woodworking Club, Sunbury
Woodworking Club and Northern Woodturning Club in addition
to quite a few blokes from the newly formed Kilmore Mens' Shed.
Arrangements are in hand for a reciprocal visit between Northern
Woodturning Club and the fellas from the Mens' Shed.
Had excellent sales of our woodturned items, possibly gained
one new member from Kilmore area for Northern Woodturning
Club, had an offer of free wild cherry tree from one person, gained two
orders for a Lazy Susan and a coffee table also. Opportunity
for swap of some wood from another bloke as well.
My stocks of pens went down appreciably - now have to get
busy and make some more.
