If you can come up midweek and wander though while everyone in Canberra is at school, uni or work.
Unfortunately everyone in Pambula will be at school or work too, including me and the kids

Just saying it would be the best time to go. I know it is a day away from school/work but if you really want to see it then perhaps worth thinking about.

Who is the principal at Pambula Primary? When I was there it was Frank Maher. Memories memories.

Maybe we could take Friday off. Will see.

Principal is new to the area, his name is Mark Thomson. Frank retired years ago but he's still around. They've had at least one other principal between Frank and the current guy. The last one was off on stress leave for a couple of years and they finally decided he wasn't coming back, so we got Mark.

    I had Frank in years 5 & 6. He was a character...

Crowds of people around the Mona Lisa, and you couldn't get close to it, and it was stuck behind glass. They've made an abortion of the place now.

I took my daughter to the gallery in Sydney a couple of weeks ago. Some awesome paintings there, but that modernist section is full of rubbish. Some of the crap they had hanging there was unbelievable. I don't want to see a big hairy pair of nuts in my face when I'm there with my daughter thanks. (It was more of a laugh actually )

    Anyway, back on topic.

Did he leave you a hammer, chisel and hacksaw? Make yourself a bottle opener and crack a stubby of Coopers.

Remember Frank had a garage that opened out to the oval at the back of the school... well in that shed he kept his stash of sherry in flagons. Well as a 6 class unit most of us were deviants. We got into his stash one lunchtime and most of use were absolutely rotten (probably only took a glass each) drunk. We went back into class and the teacher said nothging but went and got Frank. Man did we get in trouble. Parents were called but I cant remember if the police were involved, these days he would have been drawn and quartered.

    How times have changed.

That house is gone now. There's only one room left there from back then, the rest of the place has been rebuilt. The one room left is over near the oval. It wasn't in use as a classroom when I was there, I think they used it as a storeroom. Don't know why they kept it. It's pretty old and was moved there from Lochiel or somewhere years before I came along.

You would not recognise the place. I certainly don't.

Steady on Alex Pambula is a happening place.

Pambula Hospital has had some of the best Dr's from just about any field of medicine you can think of. We used to live on Brunker St which was on the same level as the hospital itself. Was a great town to grow up in, I remember dad making a billy-cart with 10 inch pushbike wheels and riding it down Merimbola St (the one the hospital is on) and going straight across the main road flat out, hanging on fro grim life. Good times Gooed times indeed.
