Lost or losing it!!!
Ok I got rid of the missus (to work) and the kids are at school or daycare trouble is I have nothing to do.
Was thinking about sinking my teeth into something wood but then I remembered I sent some of my gear to the old man so he can do some renovating at his new digs. He has my tablesaw, SCMS, bonkloads of clamps, my gifkins, router table, planes (or is it planers)..., a couple of drills, all my welding gear and god knows what else.
Only thing I have left in my shed is the old Ajax drillpress I got the SWMBO grandfather, three clamps and one drill. Damnit I want it all back now!
Perhaps now is the time to take penpal up on his offer to learn me to use a lathe. Hmm sounds like a plan. ''Peter!!'' I am on my way.

Go and check out the Egyptian artefacts display from the Louvre that's at the National Gallery. We're planning to come up and see that before it finishes on the 25th.

Trouble is we saw them when we were in LA back in 2005. How ever we did go have another squiz because they were so good, only problem is here they let as many people go through the gallery as want in. In LA you rang and booked a time and you had to be there at that time or you missed out. Best part about that method was that you could 'see' everything easily. Here they pack you in like sardines and just expect you to do the best you can. Very disappointing.

My gramps had a sign in his shop saying "The man who lends tools is out." (Out of tools, that is).

I spent most of a day in the bowels of the Louvre admiring the Egyptian artifacts some are so huge that I doubt that they will be included in the exhibition but no doubt it will still be impressive.
I'd ring the Gallery and say that your old and frail so when is the best time to go and see it to avoid the crowds.

The first time I went there, we had met a guy in Spain who worked up in the restoration section and he gave us his phone number to call when we got to Paris. They close on Tuesdays but they let staff bring friends in, so we got a private tour with not many people around. Went back a couple of years later and could hardly move.

I seem to remember it being OK when I went except for the room where they house the Mona Lisa...that was very amusing all these people crowded around one tiny painting goohing and gaahing when they were surrounded so many masterpieces that went unnoticed.
Sorry Doughboy, getting sidetracted what did you end up doing yesterday ?

What dod I do yesterday.... well I had a physio appointment at 11.30. Turned up ten minutes to spare, or so I thought, I was early by one day and ten minutes. Luckily they let the go through and do it then.
Other than that I cleaned house. Three loads of washing, hung outto dry and then ironed and put away, mended a puncture in my boys pushbike, went and picked said boy up from school, prepared dinner, made beds, and finally watched boyo go for a swim in the afternoon. All in all I would not have had a whole lot of time anyways.
SilentC yes it is worth seeing the exhibition but just be aware that it will be sqishy. If you can come up midweek and wander though while everyone in Canberra is at school, uni or work.
