Maleny wood expo and Sawmill Showdown-2nd and 3rd may
The Maleny Wood Expo is back for 2009!
This two-day family event is packed with something for the whole family. From rustic bush furniture to contemporary design, the Sunshine Coast Hinterland’s premier event showcases the region’s finest wood artisans.
Smell the distinctive spicy aroma of newly milled timber and watch the sawdust fly! Demonstrations by the experts of the chainsaw, trade tools and woodworking demonstrations. Catch the mobile millers in action
Experience the amazing Sprocket. Children will be enchanted by the interactive magical musical playground. Pull up a hay bale and enjoy great food and fabulous local music; there’ll be plenty of entertainment for everyone!
Bring your family and friends along for a great day out in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland!
as well as all the usual events this year the maleny wood expo will host teh first ever austrailan sawmill showdow.
Starting form 10am daily.
Sawmill operators will be supplied with a log out of witch they have to cut into timber to fill a cuttign list. Timber recovery and accuracy will be recorded and the results published (location yet to be confirmed)
it should be a great weekend for all even if you arent interested in woodwork there is plenty of nice senery around maleny

Here are the guidelines for the sawmill showdown that the millers will have to follow for you to read if you wish. these will also be handed out on the day.
we will be running the shootout on saturday the 2nd of may form 10am.

I'm coming, just debating on for how long. I was thinking of coming up Friday, going Sat, returning Sunday. STAR was talking about coming with me too, so see how we go.
If I can't tee up accomodation with STAR's friend, what's the best caravan park in the area?
