Introduction to Marquetry
2 day Course

Sat 10th~Sun 11th July ‘09
Sat 24th~Sun 25th July ‘09
(Start: 8.00am till 5.00pm both days)

Topics covered:

• Some basic box construction techniques,
(The box will be your canvas)

• Working with Veneer,

• Veneering and Marquetry Skills,

• Using Hide Glue,

• Hammer Veneering and other methods,

• Marquetry layout, construction,

• Inlaying motifs.


At the conclusion of the 2 days it is anticipated each participant will have completed a project comprising of;
A completed box which has been hand veneered and contains at least one
handmade piece of Marquetry.


Course normally priced at $365.00 plus materials....

However ... we are interested in student feedback, so for these sessions...the offer is

2 Day Workshop,
including materials,
$250.00 per person.

Morning and Afternoon tea with Tea and Coffee Making facilities provided,
Please bring your own Lunch.

Materials Include:
Box (in kit form,ply)
Veneers
Papers and Materials for Marquetry Project + other consumables.
(*Please note: does not include any Box Hardware e.g. Hinges, Latches or screws etc.)
