So that is immediately after your sharpening weekend being, Saturday the 30 of April Sunday the first of May.
At this stage that seems okay, but will confirm later. Anzac day would be out for me.

I'm not going to say I'll be there as lately my word has meant bugger all, but whatever night suits people I'll make a genuine effort. ...

Yes he does, he has his own little toolbox with plastic tools and picks them up immediately I go to the workshop and joins me there. He knows that the workshop is for fixing things when they break (I have plenty of CA glue for that ) and making things.
He loves cleaning the floor, playing with the wood vice and the air duster of the compressor and hammering things. Ofcourse I have to supervise him so I don't get a chance to do anything myself, but the joy in watching him and teaching by playing is great. He will grow up to fix things rather then become part of the throw away society.
He's nearly 3 but has been like that since he was a toddler.
Peter.

My live-in grandson, James is turning 1 on 14 April and is already keen on woodwork. He loves watching Grandad work in the carport through the window and is occasionally allowed out to watch closer.
He is also keen on woodworking videos. This is great if I am minding him for the afternoon/evening. Over the past couple of days he has watched the full Bill Anderson video on molding planes, over four hours worth. (Grandad's self-imposed pre-course study before doing the hollows and rounds course at Melbourne Guild of Fine Woodworking with Terry Gordon in a couple of weeks)
Peter, I am looking forward to the day he is old enough to actually participate, like your grandson is doing. I really believe that kids need to grow up in an environment where making and fixing things is normal.
Cheers

I cannot tell my availability from one day to the next during that week because of the nature of my back, and that I work for a bunch of indecisive clowns who cannot tell me what I am expected to do from one day to the next, let alone four weeks away.
Therefore I think it best for me not to indicate a preference during the week in question here. (I have leave approved for the following week so I have a bit more control over what I do then. That's why I earlier mentioned Tuesday, but that does not suit Sturdee.)
Pick a date that suits the most people and if I can make it I will be there.
Cheers
