Joegee,
I am a new member to this forum as well, but mate, you have lost the plot. This forum is not for your own personal hate campaign against Carb-a-tec. You Have the privillage to use this forum to share, learn and develop ideas, so respect it. I have been turning for 25 years, but I still have so much to learn. When I have needed information, advice, and help, it is these guys and girls of this forum that have helped without hesitation. Respect them, I sure as hell do. I am pretty calm but you have posted crap, be prepared to wipe it up. You posted it on this forum, you will get replies. So if yopu dish it learn to eat it. On the subject of respect, just some of the guys that have helped, rsser, smidsy, bitingmidge, gumby and gatiep, thanks guys. Joegee, buy the way, I am 2005 Grand Champion Wood Turner, 10 sections entered, 9 firsts and 1 second in my home town. If you go to the warehouse, get a catalogue, they have an oscillating spindle sander you might want to try!!!!!!!!!!!!

Now I’ll undoubtedly get up some noses so I’ll say in advance………If you feel that I should apologise then take it as a given. Also, my opinions, which I am entitled to, are NOT in any way an endorsement of the sentiments expressed in the initial (apparently edited) post………….
Honestly, some people here are total pussies…………. if anyone thinks Joegee”s current (apparently edited) post is “over the top”, overly offensive or threatening, as I saw someone say, then you guys have seen sweet F******* all of internet BBS. This BBS is one of the most enjoyable, informative, well behaved forums I have encountered in a number of years of varying BBS "membership" ”…………however, it is an open forum where in recent times I have seen members here verbally reaming some “assumed” company people a new a***hole with hardly a word said. We see continual gripes, sometimes bordering on “venomous” about certain companies, again these hardly raise a murmur, yet one person believes, rightly or wrongly that they have a gripe with Carbotec and all hell breaks loose.
…………..are people frightened of upsetting Carbotec? Nothing I can currently see in the post is potentially slanderous or likely to create “legal” problems for Admin, who BTW, when establishing a BBS, have to be prepared to accept that people are going to have varying opinions and on occasion, express these opinions on their BBS, there is nothing to my knowledge in the rules that states a person can’t initially join here to vent frustrations, that a person can’t express dissatisfaction with a specific product or company, blah, blah, blah, but here we have a virtual vigilante squad out for blood because someone appears to have a gripe with Carbotec…………..guys, in responding in this manner, you are only lowering yourselves to the level of character you choose to apply to Joegee.
If anyone feels compelled to respond, before doing so, please consider this……….I started moderating on the internet 6 or 7 years ago and still moderate on two audio recording forums, I have fairly rigid views on “internet etiquette” and behaviour, consequently, my opinions are not a “knee jerk” reaction to this thread but are based on a number of years experience riding shotgun on BBS and trying to keep the peace while still allowing people the courtesy of expressing their view
Again, this is just my opinion and as they say...........opinions are like a***holes.......everybody has one.
OK, rant over.

Hmm - anyone noticed Joe appears to be from England? is he commenting on Carba-tech anyway?
Surprised his rep is still in the green!

Big deal they have re-opened in Victoria in the Eastern Subusbs where there is a established market! Gee doesn't every business try to open their doors where their is a market for the product or service? I am yet to see a business open (for long) where their is no market.
As to your point about BBS and venting, everyone has an opportunity to vent, critise or rant and rave (just check some of the posts here or some of the members) but a least do it over something that makes sense, crap post having a go at a company for no good reason except, you might be in competition with them is what makes most BBS not worth reading or joining.
My ten cents worth
p.s. try to post this on Sunday but thread was closed (thankyou to whom ever re-opened)

Shaun,
Again, I'm not supporting Joe's sentiments, but maybe he genuinely feels he had a justifiable gripe, he is entitled to an opinion (it might be a stupid opinion, but he still has the right to it)..........what pee'd me off a tad was the reaction to "his" post when I've recently seen, let's call them "considerably more objectionable" posts, go virtually unchallenged.........it just displayed a degree of double standards that not just this, but any BBS can well do without.
Personally, this thread should have stayed locked.

I wasn't going to get involved in this s**t fight but what the hell. In for a penny.
Most of the original post is fairly innocuous and seems to support the choice of "East" by saying
What ever reasons you decide to open a warehouse in a location its your choice
and
You do not need to be a brain surgeon and you do not need to do market research to open a Ware House where you have as this would of taken a few minutes to decide because there is already an established Market in the East.
It's only the next part ..................
You have come on here with excuses and what you think are justified reasons then you start the scare tactics on telling people there are many machines identical but only yours have the features blah blah blah.
.............that seems a little strange because I can't find where anyone from Carbatec has made a statement that would cause him/her to post that statement.
Having said that, I agree that the criticism of Joegee started way over the top and just got worse. It's taken on the proportions of a scene from the Life Of Brian. "Kill the unbeliever."

Some people may believe my responses were somewhat flippant.
I did see the original, for that to be deleted, then have the balls to start a new thread, say a very similar thing, but toned down to avoid deletion, is probably going to upset people.
Histring sugested Joegee had a genuine gripe with Carbatec. This may be so, but his post attacks the stores location, I can't for the life of me see how this constitutes a genuine gripe. (Ok I can, but I'm not saying, cos' I might be wrong).
A perception of double standards is just that, a viewpoint from one person, at one point in time. The responses solicited probably show that the majority will disagree with Histring.
As a moderator Histring, I would have thought it important to read each post carefully, understand it, read between the lines, find any hidden meanings, then comment if required, perhaps if you were to check the company name in the topic headline, the use it, or correct it if necasary, instead of repeating your own version, I would have more respect for your views than I otherwise do.Boring signature time again!
