Met a nice forumite yesty
So the other day I was yarnin away here about some Oregon on another thread when this fella Scottyk pops up sayin he has some that he would be prepared to swap for some Jarrah... No flamin worries thinks I as I glare at the mountain of Jarrah in the humpyhoochy I need some good quality Oregon for a mast and boom for the still being builded boat... so a few pms later its organized... Im heading up to Perth to take daughter back to her place and as its not that far outta my way to duck across from Pinjarra to Rockingham and down the freeway instead of straight down the southwest highway We shot off 3 lengths of Jarrah in the back of the Effy and a few wee other bits
So we finally get there and the young Scotty wanders out and we meet... nice young bloke navy fella but hey we wont hold that against him! and while we carry the Jarrah around the back theres his lovely young missus being the birdlady of Rockingham man has she got a bundle (or is it a gaggle?) of birds!! anyway my rather preggers young daughter got to play sillybuggars with their madcapped insane dog hales of laughter from her as she tried despiratly to keep the excited thing of her protruding belly by throwing a rope tie around which being a lab the dopey thing kept bringing back to her!
So we get the Jarrah out and there in the sheds his wee boat... a Mike Waller designed trailer sailer... man its got a wide beam to length ratio! anyway hes done a great job on it... So we get out the offcuts of Tuart Sheoak Sepaiture and Kapur Id chucked in for him... and he hands me in return a nice chunk of Sassafrass which id never seen before funny lookin wood which he reckons the centre feature is caused by mould amazing anyways he then hands me a beautiful chunk of Huon Pine... a substance thats been eluding me for some time now... and we had a chinway for awhile but with the weather turnin from crap to utter crap in a rush we decide to take to the road
He seems to have a shortage of REAL tools... bein a bit of a darksider he uses hand tools!! Young fella with old fashioned ideas!! So I departed leaving an open invite for him to wander down anytime he wants his timber jointed thickenessed or whatever... once the sheds up of course!
And another nice bloke is met through the good graces of Ubloodybeaut!!
Now at some stage Ive gotta meet up with Les while Im in Perth this was a quick trip so sorry mate!
Cheers!!Believe me there IS life beyond marriage!!! Relax breathe and smile learn to laugh again from the heart so it reaches the eyes!!

Yeah mate yous mob arent too bad... When I was a whole mess of years younger I tried to get into the navy but the dopey buggars wouldnt have me!! Imagine that eh? Didnt want me in their navy... not smart enough (read fathers death meant I dropped out in first year to go to work) they reckoned
So I tried the army... 5 bloody years straight!!! nope they didnt want me either The sargent major that interviewed me on all occasions one sgt major Lewis reckoned "look mate if theres a war we'll call you okay" HA!! not bloody likely tiger!!... mind here I tried to get into the bloody reserves when I turned 30 and the bastards STILL knocked me back!
so I gave it a miss
I'll just turn into a rambo if a war comes... albeit a wee tad tubby one... but give me a 600cc enduro a M16 and Id be dynamite!!!
Funny but a couple of blokes I know who actually did get into the navy are seasick prone whereas Ive always been like a duck on the water but that didnt matter what mattered back then was the grey matter... go figure eh
Not to worry if young Scottys anything to go by the Aussie navys in good handsBelieve me there IS life beyond marriage!!! Relax breathe and smile learn to laugh again from the heart so it reaches the eyes!!

Just thought I'd let you guys know, Scottyk is my little brother and yes he has moved up to Spearwood. The boat was moved on a power boat trailer I borrowed from work, loaded very carefully and driven with even more caution. Anyway now she is all settled in her new shed work has begun again with some vigour! The cabin mould has been set out (the cabin will be could moulded again as to have no deck beams) and the first couple of layers on.
We have also managed to aquire (for free, shhhh don't tell anyone!) a mast and boom so the building of the rig will also now commence.
I'll get onto Scotty about posting some more photos ASAP as she is really starting to take shape.

Was it something I ate?
