The WOOD SHOW! couldnt wait! left work early, rush through traffic, went past a ATM to get some cash, got there, couldnt find parking! i was like WOW! this show is really popular! found a spot, walked to the entry, it was packed! 100s of seniors, i was like wow! even the seniors are here, first walked in, like feeling like the first time i attended the easter show as a child. To my left i saw some stalls, i spent about a 20 mintues going through them. I was thinking to myself "okay, so were is the real stuff?" didnt know where to go? door 1 - crafts door 2- crafts, "whats going on here? i have been scammed!" the arts and craft rooms were packed!!!! no wood in sight! i came back out, feeling that i have been fooled, i bought a meat pie and a drink and sat on the tables, trying to figure out, what went wrong? I should of seen the warning signs! lol.

The best way I can discribe the show is if you have been to Newcastle show then this isn't much different to he set up, vendors etc.

    Default metal and wood show.

Short analysis. Very ordinary. Maybe 10 stands and nothing really there. Trend had the best stand with at least two demonstrators.
It was an adjunct to the craft show and there were 50 women for every man in the hall. Draw your own conclusions about that. At $15 a pop,
first and last. Not a true competitor with the WWW show in every sense of the word. Coffee was good. Drillit.

Well some vendors will drive hundreds of k's just to please the crowd no matter how big or small such as Mal of Boutique Timbers does every year to Kiama.

Or VEK to Eden now that was/must have been a small crowd must have been harder working out who was vendor and who was customer.

    Robson Tool King to Rosehill.

Shows come and go as do many other things.

    Edited to add

One of the vendor sites was Mens Shed a fast growing network of woodies n metal men

    Default not bad

4 days did seem like a long time to be there but I was doing some demonstrating sometimes on the Trend stand sometimes on the Western woodies stand so it was interesting. I received some positive response and some negative but people in general thought it was not a bad idea that wives could take the husbands out and while they looked at stiches and craft the men folk would have something to hold there attention. Then again I noticed there were a lot of women spending money one woodcraft items for themselves.
All in all I thought it may be the beginning of a fine event that is not trying to compete with the major shows.

Trend are holding an open day 22nd-23rd so it's not long till again there will be lots to see and do.

Crowie unfortunately I have a niece getting married that weekend so I won't be able to attend but I do hope to take the bike over on Thursday and leave it there till Monday. So if you go to Trend you will see it.
