mill town timber days
Mill town timber days are fund raising days for "cancer in kids" (RCH), its a great day very casual, easy going atmosphere, plenty to see and only $5 entry fee.
November 14th and 15th - 2015.

Only 3 hours from Geelong, situated between Portland and Hamilton.

Sounds interesting Stevo, any camping facilities for caravans or 5th wheelers around the area?

B/Shed l'm 99% sure that you can camp on the property, as its on private scrub, l just rang them but they weren't home but below is the facebook page, there may be something on there.
If they ring me back with details l post it here.

Well l haven't heard back from the Wood days members so l guess on site camping is a no-go?
But the closet town is Heywood (15 minute drive) - https://www.caravanparkphotos.com.au...wood/index.htm
Hamilton ( two nice waterfalls there) is not far away if coming from inland, it has several caravan parks as does Portland (if your coming along the "Great Ocean Road" )
Mt Gambier is only a 1hr drive (roughly) with its Blue lake, Coonawarra vineyards are roughly about 1.5 hrs away if you like posh plock.
If there are any updates (on site) l'll post-em

Thanks Stevo, had a look at their (public) Facebook site and one of the photos shows a caravan there.
Not very keen on camping in caravan parks but I'll make some further enquiries.

Ok Fred, we have a result, yes you can camp there $5 a night plus the entry fee of $5 a day.
If you go, they would like you there after lunch Friday Arvo or before 10am on the Saturday morning (before the crowd turn up).
There are only 2 toilets, and you must take your own water (very limited supply etc) there are NO showers there, so takes lots of deodorant if your going Bear Grylis style.
Cheers

Looks like a great event - I hope lots of people turn up and lots of money is raised for the CIKA and the children.
