Mobile Sawmill on the road
Just to let you all know that I am travelling from Coff's Harbour on the 17th this month with a mobile bandsaw of GOOD REPUTE and FINE KERF, [ie 2.5mm max, less with thinner blades ], heading for Victoria/Melb/Warragul/Daylesford so if you want a log milled along the way please get in touch.
WHAT YOU GET:
Good rates for members, [excellent rates anyway!], a faded old operator still enjoying his milling/cabinet/bowl making willing to share his ideas/thoughts [yes, all three of them!] Del Ray [the mill] can cut slabs, boards, tomato stakes, 2.0mm veneers, sections through burls, most chunks of timber. If she can grip it we can slice it.
mobile no 0408854273. anytime from 7.30pm to 11.30 pm. OR pm through this forum.

mobile sawmill on the road...
Yes me too!!!! But I can cut 3mm veneers if you want! All day!
No Ray, still time...getting my tiny bank-vault lightened by the motor mechanics up here in Coffs...
Now need new/reco head for Alice, the old Discovery. She'll be a better behaved girl for it though.
Be on the road again by Thursday, hopefully, so ring if you want something done. Mob no above.
Need to hear from you to support my mechanic!
richie
Actually Ray, have busted a part on the mill and have to access spares in Vic so can do your work on the way back in about 3 weeks
if that suits. Sorry for the delay. rLast edited by richie47; 19th January 2010 at 09:25 AM. Reason: additional info

Spoke to Ritchie today. He has just received a part/s he had ordered
and will cut up my small lodgment of Osage Orange possibly today.
Have also passed on Ritchie's details to two other interested clients
so they may be in luck. He told me today he has cut up 90 tonnes
of logs in Healesville and there is plenty of work for him there.

back on air
Sorry Bob, been out of range for a while and the broadband playing up - back on now.
The mill is a Woodmizer LT 40 Hydraulic and I'm just about to upgrade it with bigger electrics and another hydraulic pump [side-by-side] so it's a whole lot faster. Been using a similar mill and it just flies!
The throat is about 730mm and it can deal with logs from about 1200mm down, max length round 6.1m, 6 is comfortable. So slabbing is not her forte but 2 x 680mm slabs joined is a fair piece of tabletop if you really want that kind of thing.
She runs with a Cat diesel, 35 HP and is accurate on all but extremely hard timbers.
Not too bad on those either.
Not fond of rough sites or entrys but will do them...only need a fairly flat area about 12 m square to operate.
Heading to the NT this winter after I'm packed and sold out of timber at home on the Northern Rivers.
Cheers, richie
