Some interesting statistics for you - Of the total entries, the average number of entries per person was just 3, as many people did not bother to complete the form correctly.
Of all prizes awarded, only one (minor weekly winner only) was to a person who did not complete the form correctly to maximise their chances.for entering.
One individual by using the referral system had some 50 entries at the end. He did win a prize, shows what effort put in the right way can achieve.
It is estimated that about 200 entries were from a competition listing site from people who had no real interest in woodwork. Of those not one correctly filled in the form to maximise the chances of winning ! About 30% of those entry types did not have a valid email address which of course disqualified them from the competition altogether.
Of those genuine woodworkers who entered, about 20% were previous customers, however another 25% (approx.) have become customers since entering.
Only about 25 people entered by mail or fax.
These figures make interesting reading. This has been a very enlightening exercise, and i hope we can do something similar this time next year.
We will have a stand at the Brisbane wood show in May, where we will be doing a few interesting activities, including a real Auction each day where bargains are real, and we have a couple of well known local identities who will be doing instructional demonstrations on the stand. We hope to also have some exciting new products if they arrive in time for the show. Hope to see many of you there.
Regards
