Seminar Opportunity - Tickets at the door!

We would like to let everybody know that this is your last opportunity to take part in a unique seminar on chair making , specifically the ‘Windsor’ chair and it’s history in America. It will be conducted by Peter Galbert, one of America’s best chair makers. It is truly a ‘once in a lifetime’ opportunity that’s not to be missed! Seminars like this are relatively common in the U.S. In Australia however, I’m unaware of something similar in my lifetime.

For those who are unfamiliar with Peter Galbert, he stands as one of America’s most influential chair makers. His body of work speaks for itself, from expertly rendered traditional Windsor chairs, settees and rockers to contemporary designs that are the best of their kind. Peter has taught Windsor chair making at the best of America's woodworking schools, has written articles on the subject for ‘Fine Woodworking’ magazines as well as producing the most widely read internet blog on chair making, Peter Galbert Chair Notes, Windsor Chairs - with thousands of followers, professional and amateur alike.

This seminar will begin with Peter talking about furniture making/chair making in America today, with the rest of the seminar focussing in on Windsor chair making - it’s styles, designs and techniques. There will be several demonstrations throughout the evening. For those with an appreciation of fine furniture, Peter's lecture will better illustrate what constitutes a fine example of the Windsor style. For furniture makers and chair makers of any kind, Peter’s enthusiasm and skilled demonstrations will be an inspiration to all.

This seminar, the first of its kind in Australia is happening on the 12th January, 2012 from 6pm to 9pm at the Eley Park Community Centre, 87 Eley Road Blackburn South.

Tickets are $25 all inclusive (Limited to 150 seats). Tickets are available at the door. Please RSVP to us if you plan to attend via email ([email protected]) or by phone (0413 537 490).

Peter will be available to answer questions and light refreshments will be provided during the lecture.

We look forward to seeing you all there!
