Prezzies for kids
In the course of a recent thread started by Waldo, I suggested that we might choose one national charity that contributors to WWF could support this Christmas by making toys for children. Three of us have put up our hands to participate but obviously the more that participate, the better our position will be in discussing the project with relevant charities.
The only criteria that I think are relevant are:
- The charity should agree that the toys will be given to children in need this Christmas and not sold by the charity.
- The charity should be one that operates throughout Australia, so that it is easy for us to donate our toys.
- The toys should be made of wood and safe (no small parts and no toxic finishes).
The charities that I had in mind are the Smith Family and the Salvation Army (although other suggestions would be gratefully received).
So now it's over to you guys. Do you want to participate (I will set this up as a poll so that you can indicate your support that way). If you think there is another charity I should talk to, please let me know either by putting up a post naming it or by sending me a PM.
Cheers

Excellent idea and two excellent choices of charities that meet the national criteria.
I won't say a definite yes, yet but will be working towards it. I have a few toys in mind.
Good luck.CJ

I already do, and will be doing so again this year. I give them to the Salvation Army, with specific instructions to them, that the toys are not to be sold, but given directly to families that need them.
So I guess that means - count me in"Clear, Ease Springs"
