Rocker morticing jig scored its 1500th download today
It was gratifying to find that my mortising jig's plans have been downloaded from my blog 1500 times since April of last year, and that plans for other jigs and furniture have been downloaded about 4600 times in the same period. Perhaps I should have been selling them on E-bay rather than posting them for free download Oh well.

Congratulations, Rocker.
I fear that the number of downloads would have been substantially less had you put the plans on eBay. Because they are free they will be read much more widely.
It's a question of what you wan t to achieve - money or information dissemination?Cheers

I was probably one of the first to get a copy and one of the first to build one. I use it often, so thank you, Rocker, for making it available.

Perhaps you should continue to offer the plans free, but also have a for-sale version of the jig for those who don't feel confident in building it themselves.

Ron,
I am much too lazy to build the morticing jig and mail it out to purchasers. Too much hassle. The lite version of the jig is simple enough that anyone who wanted a morticing jig at all should be able to build it.
SilentC,
It is satisfying to know that you and around 2000 other woodworkers are by now using my jig since it was first made available about four years ago. I have not lived entirely in vain

Your email with the plans attached arrived at 6:46pm on Monday the 29th of September 2003, so it is nearly 5 years to the day. It took me a few weeks to get around to making it though

Congratulations Rocker.
It was very generous of you to put them up for free distribution I am sure you get great personal satisfaction from knowing you are helping many wood workers country wide.David L
