SCAM WARNING - Market Place
SCAM WARNING
Please read the following info very carefully or you may get scammed.
We have had a couple of instances of people being scammed in the Market Place. There is now a warning in all of the Market place forums to hopefully stop others from being scammed and losing their money to these lowlife mongrels.
Scam goes like this:
If you say I'll take it you may get a response from a scammer posing as the seller. Carefully check the name of
the person contacting you with payment info. If it is not EXACTLY the same as the sellers name it will definitely be a scammer who will ask for PayPal payment, do not pay.
eg: Sellers name is: Buggerlugs - Responder name is: Buggerlugs01, Buggorlugs, Buggerlugss, etc, etc.
DO NOT PAY THE WRONG PERSON!
You will not get your money back!!!
For your own and others security, either report the PM (preferable) or report them to Admin
They will be aggressively dealt with...

Thanks for the heads-up Neil.
Good advice. However, even if the usernames match, it could still be a scammer I'd reckon. I.e. scammer creates a forum account, throws a few posts on the forum to gain some history, then places an ad. Someone says "I'll take it", usernames match and money is transferred. Scam complete.
Be careful out there!

As above.
If something doesn't look, or feel right in a PM or post, if your (spidy sensors) hairs on the back of your neck are standing up, please report it to admin and we'll deal with it in reasonably quick time and let you know if it's real, a scam or worse.

Good reason to be transparent and adhere to the market place rules which state that all correspondence be done in the ad. That way many people are looking at it and someone else might spot something fishy.
