As I said. Sheds are community based.
I don't think any Men's Shed is threatened by female attendance, under known circumstances.
I think some individuals feel threatened by the opportunity, Men's Sheds, have to enhance the quality of life of those men participating in Men's Sheds.
Tea Lady, has shown one example of a Men's Shed which works.
Lots of Men"s Sheds could not operate without women. They are on committees as secretary's, treasurers and all sorts of support roles for the Men's Shed.

I see this post as a "electronic installation" where the artist has come in and put her ideas on display to receive reactions both positive and negative.
Hope you havent been frightened off Kay

Rubbish
It's a delicate topic and unfortunately your in the minority. Read 's comment, that puts everything into perspective. It's easy to feel discouraged when it's this way however trust me, I think you've got more supporters than detractors, both here and at the mens shed.
Socially it's an age where everyone expects equality and when a traditional domain is encroached upon then a lively debate is always going to ensue. I reckon you should just ignore what's going on in this thread (unsubscribe) and keep on adding your valuable contributions to this forum, like you've always done.-Scott

I have been saying this for years!
A school is a state government facility which is used 9-3 on weekdays except for school holidays and is vandalised for the rest of the time. These schools have classrooms, libraries, sports fields, workshops, kitchens, office space, internet accessible computers.
Look at other state government bodies that could be sharing these facilities and by doing so minimise vandalism and reduce government spending to duplicate these facilities for other purposes.
SES should be co-located with schools: a small shed to hold their gear and they can use the classrooms after hours which is when they train anyway instead of a big shed somewhere else with separate training rooms.
How about locating the local police station on the corner of the school grounds, in addition to being a deterrent to vandalism, wouldn't schools be a safer place because of this?
How about if the school library was combined with the local library and located on the school grounds? a more diverse selection for all concerned? wouldnt that be a great idea?
Why not build an office for the state member of parliament within the school grounds instead of leasing office space elsewhere? what a saving to the taxpayer!
The list could go on!! I am sure a woodworking club could share a school workshop and I'm sure that the club and the school could benefit if both had the right attitude to the sharing arrangements.
But Mens Sheds, Aren t they federaly funded, so they may not work so well with a state-funded school. surely something could be worked out?
