    Hello Peter

I don't recall giving you permission to leave the forums, but I guess when you get a calling from a higher place... you don't really have any option but to obey.

Thank you for your kind words and your long term and most worthy membership of the forums. You have been a big help to many members including me and the other admins and mods over the years.

I'm proud to say I've met you and Michelle a number at times at shows and sheds. A good man with a good heart and a willingness to help others.

I'm sure that where you're going you will be in the company of many good woodies you have known and will be welcomed with open arms. We have lost a lot of good people over the last few years and the world's a little worse off for each one we lose.

You and your contributions will be sorely lost. When people ask what happened to that nice man Sturdee we'll say he's moved on to a special place made for woodworkers. One with a better Grand Master/Benevolent Dictator than on here.

For now, enjoy your real family and don't worry about the one you leave behind on here.

My sincere wishes for a wonderful afterlife.

    Neil
    The Benevolent Dictator.

What can you say, I second all the previous posts, and thank you for you contributions over the years.

I remember coming to your house for a woodies get together some years ago when Neil (dai sensei) was doing his trip around Australia. It was a great day to meet you and a number of other forum members and the day seemed to be no fuss to you and your dear wife. You welcomed everyone as if you knew us all.
Unfortunately we have already lost one of those in attendance that day, that being Amos (PenTurner) so it's not pleasant hearing the predicament you are in. Cherish the time you have left with your family, we won't forget you.

I am soo sorry to hear your news.

The first time I met you was at the Blackburn RSL Get Togethers

You always had a big smile on your face , and always brought in your latest turnings .

So sorry to hear Peter. Don't get on here that much anymore so miss quite a few of the announcements. A lot of us old Forumites are getting to that age where we are all vulnerable to all the crap that is around us these days. I am glad you have family close and can share these precious moments.

    Cheers Mate

I am saddened to hear this, Peter. We have been on this forum together for a long time, and you are family to me and everyone else here. You will remain in spirit with us whenever we get together. Travel well, my friend.

    With warm regards from Perth

Thanks Neill for your comments, you may be able to post on your facebook group my condition so that a lot of my friends who , like you, don't frequent the forums any more are aware , especially the one I cannot name.

Thank you guys for the lovely messages of support. I had no idea of how I have been able to help others over the years, and your support now is a comfort.

    G'day Sturdee,

When I first joined this Forum, it was one of your nights at your place that I enjoyed your company and your wife's when Neil travelled down and you walked us through your workshop and all chatted around the table.

Family is above everything, spend that time with them.

Such a sad thing to read.

Peter it is so sad to hear of your predicament , as others have said your input will be sorely missed.
We do wish all the best for you and your family in this time.
We do know that you have taught Michele a lot over the years and she will carry on your woody legacy.

    Very sad news Peter.

I remember how you always painted your Triton jigs Triton Orange.

The Sturdee Dust Separator Bucket was a popular item back in the day.
In fact the Sturdee bucket was the inspiration for me to scale it up to two 44 gallon drums for my homemade cyclone separator.

You have been a positive influence on many lives. Thank-you.

    Farewell old friend.

(Do you have any of that orange paint left?) In twenty years we have never met, but I'll look out for the bloke with the orange splatters on his boots when inevitably I get to where you are going.

May your journey be as comfortable as it can be and I truly hope you enjoy the time you have left with your family.

    Cheers one more time,

    P
