Default Soon I'll be leaving the forums.

Most( or some ) will remember me posting of my deteriorating health especially my liver condition.

Without going into great details in 2020 I had two spots of cancer, which with localized treatments were killed of.

In 2021 cancer returned with more seriousness with more extensive 3 spots on my liver, which with localized treatments were killed of.

This year scans show that I have now five areas of cancer with on on the outside of the whole bottom of the liver.

The scans have been studied and studied again by my cancer team at the Austin and the unanimous decision that no medical treatment is available and that my health will cope with whole body chemo.

So now I'm at home in the bosom of my close knit family awaiting the end when I' be leaving the forums.

Meanwhile my strength is already fading.

Now a special message to the forums grand master, Neil thank you for the forums, I've greatly enjoyed them and have been an emotional lifeline, thank you.

This thread will be my last contribution.

    Peter.

    Peter,
I'm very sorry to hear that cancer in your liver has advanced so far.
I'd say hang around a bit longer (while your strength allows) but understand that your family is more important to you than these forums.

However, I will join with you in thanking grand master Neil for his support
    regards from Alberta, Canada

Ian the doctors at the Austin do not consider that I could survive any treatment, all they can do is phone monitoring. However special arrangements are put in place that I can get relief from the fluid buildup in my stomach area. During January I already had two stomach drains, first 2 litres second one 5.5 litres of fluids retention and slowly it is already started again.

Each of these drainage's takes a lot of energy and I know I,m getting weaker all the time. So I have no desire to keep fighting, I'll enjoy the time I have left with my wife and daughters.

Thanks Ian for your kind words.

    Peter.

Peter, I first met you when we manned the forum stand together at a wood working show in Jeff's Shed, it was great to finally meet up with you and find out that you were as gracious in real life as you are on the forum.

Take care of yourself and enjoy the time you have left.

    Hi Peter,

I don’t really know what to say in situations like this unfortunately. Thank you for your long term commitment to building the forum and spreading your knowledge.

It was many years ago now that we met, from memory it was Groggys shed in Werribee. It was some time ago now and the forums have seen considerable change in those times.

Every time I see a door being left out on the street for hard waste collection I will continue to think about you and the workshop you built for Michelle.

As I said, it’s hard to know what to write, but fortunate that we get the chance to thank you for being a virtual friend over the years.

    Cheers

Peter its sad to hear this but all I can do is wish you well. I remember when you joined the forum, still in uni I seem to recall, and enjoyed your posts. Having had family suffer cancer I know how bad it is and what you are going through. May we meet again in a happier place and may your god be with you.

When I first joined this crazy family I drew great inspiration from you, many times you would gently point me in the right direction.

    Thank you

While I was aware of your deteriorating health, I still read your emotive post with less than dry eyes, because of your prognosis. I looked back and remembered that you had been kind enough to give me a "reputation" bump. That was back in 2004 shortly after I had joined the Forum and not that long before you had joined back in June 2003. It has been a good journey until now and I hope you have enjoyed that time at least.

You won't be forgotten, until Alzheimer's kicks in at least.

    Peter,

There's not much I can add to what has already been said by those who've know you better than me, but I am another who has appreciated your contributions over the years to making this one of the best forums I've come across.

Thank you and best wishes to you and your family,
    Franklin
