The only thing I can say is that if any forum member has excess cash which they feel some urge to give away then they should send it to me. I promise I'll spend it on woodworking tools and I'll even post piccies if they want
This is just another example of the well known Nigerian scamregards

Please don't automatically delete inappropriate messages, and this includes abuse, spam, begging, religious rants or any other inappropriate garbage.
Before deleting please, please, report the message to the Admin Team by clicking the found on the top Navigation Bar above the message.
We need these message to be reported or we can't do anything to stop them from spreading. If there are a dozen messages received, it's entirely possible there are a number of people sending them. These people often attack a forum in packs for maximum penetration.
Please report anything inappropriate no matter if it's a message an email or a post. The Admin Team try very hard to keep on top of these things but with your help it can be made a lot easier.
Cheers - Neil

Over recent years have quite often received these type of begging for money emails, and associated, " Tall Story," emails, plus the ocassional, " Seeking next of kin," messages too, - BUT to date nothing via this woodworking forum site.
The vast majority originate from West Africa, although occasionally from England, or Europe as well.
Another type of email to be wary of is the person who contacts you wanting to buy something that you have advertised somewhere online. They say they live in such, & such Australian City, even to sending you a contact phone number, and a mailing address. I had one last year via my Easy Sell Site,- guy said he lived in Brisbane,- but the phone number he gave me began with, 02, which is NSW, along with a Mobile Number as well, while the street address came from Perth I contacted Telstra, to discover the phone numbers belonged to an International Phone number rental business which was based in London, England, who simply rented out unused Australian phone numbers to various people, which according to the Telstra person I spoke to is all quite legal. Luckily I have a contact living in Perth who informed me the address supplied belonged to a Cementary, then when the payment finally arrived,- it was in FAKE American Express Traveller's Cheques,( value of, US$6. grand ), with a London UK Return address attached which I handed onto our local Police, along with all the revelent information,- and that was the last I heard of that scammer.

I've received this sort of email previously and emailed back to the sender that their name, a copy of their email, their address and IP have been sent to the FBI (USA's investigative service) and the US State Department for further investigation into criminal and possible civil charges. This usually stop further emails, though it doesn't stop them from trying again with a different scam. I've often wondered how much they actually get in these deals. Maybe a new sub forum to raise funds for the site?
