Stolen clamps
Recently stolen from my storage shed in Albury
- Parallel Action Clamps in 40" (1025mm) and 50" (1270mm) sizes. As per the picture below.
- Easy Grip Ratchet Clamps 315mm. As per the picture below.
If any member is personally offered any of these or knows anything about their possible whereabouts I would greatly appreciate a private message so that I can pass any information on to the Albury Police.
My thanks in advance for bringing this to the attention of your woodworking acquaintances.
Cheers,
David

Sorry to see this has happened David. It’s a low act to take things that are not theirs. I hope you have some luck in recovering the clamps.
Cheers Cal

That's bad news indeed.
If that is all they took then things could be worse.
Once had all my hand held power tools stolen, while I was home and awake. I live in a country area with no neighbours too.

Yes Chris a targeted attack. Apart from one unit the whole complex was broken in to a number of weeks ago. Nothing was stolen from my unit at that time, but boxes were broken open and the contents examined. This time my unit was the only one broken into and they would appear to have had a good idea what they wanted to take. Over 150 Kg in weight so they didn't just walk away with them.
artful bodger, the exact same thing happened to me when we lived in Cootamundra over 25 years ago. I was able to claim on insurance on that occasion, but you can never identify everything that is missing at the time. As I went looking for particular tools over the next few years it became obvious that much more was taken than I realised at the time.

Low Lifes. Hope they are caught but will probably only get a slap on the wrist and no recompense to you.

Not saying that this scenario will happen, but in my experience police have very little power when it comes to theft (unless it was violent or repeat offenders).
Essentially thieves broke into building I was renting at the time, stole everything worth stealing mostly light weight portable gear. One of the robbers was dumb enough to drop his wallet during the raid. Gave wallet to police as it had drivers license etc, they went knocking on owners door found nothing. Robbers didn't get persecuted not enough evidence...
What the officer did say was these guys are "pros" and unless they are caught red handed or with stolen goods in their procession not much happens. Even if goods are found they just return goods, too much paper work/legal system too long to persecute petty theft. However the liklihood of goods being recovered are slim in these kinds of raids as most goods are essentially shipped the night they are stolen and never seen again.
