Two reasons, it didn't belong in Timber Sales as there was nothing to sell and no prices. I wasn't real sure myself, but because I wasn't viewing it as GB I didn't seek approval, you see.

In the end it was put in Announcements, where all GROUP BUYS have been put. Which was my other choice.

It has turned in to a rather chaotic sales pitch just as I feared. I wouldn't agree with that Fred. The couple of posts I put up about the small volume were not about selling more timber as such, but making the point that the cheap freight wouldn't happen without a decent volume.

I still don't see that MM can ask for it be closed? Well I certainly don't want to see it closed - we're nearly done anyway, but it needs to stay open to sort out the end details to keep people abreast of things. This will involve input from MM, BM and FF, and would not be practical at all via PM. Some of that can be done by PM of course, particularly when it comes to money details.

After being accused of selling timber surreptitiously in this thread,i am no longer going to continue correspondence, either p.m or otherwise..my apologies to all concerned, but i feel my integrity would be compromised if this project continued further..i wont be painted as someone flaunting the rules, ...i am deeply upset at comments that were made in the Mango stump thread,a thread which was created not to sell timber, but rather educate and enlighten...an inglorious end to what i thought was quite a decent thead...all because i was pursed by a few individuals asking if certain items were for sale...only sold 1 item off that thread, and that was through a p.m...so yes i am livid..i feel i am owed an apology, but i know that wont happen...sorry again good folk, for all your wasted time and efforts, but i am NOT going to be part of this excercise, otherwise i end up with more blood on my hands..really am sorry to all concerned... I am very saddened by this and hope that whatever happens with our timber purchases, fences are mended as life is way to short.
I appreciated your time & effort Chirs to help me with my very small order as I appreciate Brett's efforts to help others.
We are so very fortunate to have such a top mob of blokes & ladies on the forum.
Again THANK YOU Brett, Chris and all the willing helpers.
    Cheers, crowie

Default The eagle hasn't landed, but it's in the air

All timber orders were picked up this morning from Mapleman by Bushmiller, and are currently well on the way to Tamworth. Arriving Singleton tomorrow.

They were to be picked up last Friday, but a slight mechanical glitch foiled MM with the last stuff to cut. All good now though.

Brett is already aware but I guess this would be a good time to inform everyone else about the 'Tony Tax'

    Congrats Nick, 7000 posts.

Paul has just left. A pleasure to meet another forum member. Pity about the long lengths of tallow wood though. As I was stacking them I accidentally machined them and made them into a dining table Turned out very nice

    Default The Eagle has landed

    Well, here we go then.

The whole pile (and the small box on top has Nick's pen blanks):

Sawdust Maker (left box), Skew (right box)

    crowie's:

and, ah, this would be mine

A big, big thank you to

    • Mapleman for making it happen
    • Tony for taking custody and tax (and maybe even kiln drying)
    • and most of all to Paul for his extraordinary effort in picking up and driving the timber down from the Sunshine Coast

    Cheers
    Brett
