Tasmanian Timber & WWW Show
The Tasmanian Timber and Working with Wood Show starts tomorrow at the Derwent Entertainment Centre, Hobart.
Had a preview today of the competition entry pieces, some are really spectacular. I will try to remember to take the camera tomorrow and post photos tomorrow evening.
PTC, there are some simpler bandsawn boxes on display, I'll take some photos for you, might change your mind about not coming.
Two Lucas mills, one with a slabber and a bandsaw mill will be cutting hardwood, myrtle, blackheart sassafras, huon pine and other species.

I spoke to Jim Carroll as he was packing up (Irene was really doing all the work) he said he would be returning next year, not sure about other exhibitors. I think sales for some were up and others were down.
I purchased a JET 22/44 drum sander from Gustech, currently waiting for it to arrive, as I moved too slowly to buy the unit on the floor.
I did get photos of the other category winners and will try to remember to post tonight.

Huon Pine Egg
Is Chris's Huon Pine Egg available for purchase? If so, please could you advise of the price?

Hi Lindy,
Welcome to the forum.
Unfortunately, Chris's egg was sold at the end of the show, went with an exhibitor back to the big island.
If you want to send me an e-mail, click on my user name, then on send e-mail and I will forward it through to the Tamar Woodcraft Guild to see if they can put you in touch. I know Chris had numerous others.Kev
