Timbecon Online Sale
Christmas Sale www.timbecon.com.au
Each year Timbecon has a once-off sale where EVERYTHING is on special. It is usually held on the first Saturday of December, and this year is no exception. In store we will have demonstrations from dovetailing to finishing, woodturning to routing. Also - and very importantly - EVERYTHING is on special. So what about our customers unable to make it to the store?
We are having a site-wide sale of a minimum of 10% off each item. This does not mean a further discount on items currently on special in our latest sales brochure, but the lowest of the two prices calculated will be charged. There will be specific items on special of greater than 10% as well so keep a look out for these. We will post a list in Excel format later today of these specials to give you advance warning.
This special will only run from 12:01am 3rd December - 11:59pm 4th December so make sure you get in then! Also, if you wish to pick the order up from the store but can't make it on the day, you can do it online and in the special comments section please mention that you would like it picked up instead of delivered.
We are unable to take orders over the phone for these specials - it is strictly a web-based special, or alternatively, you can come into the store on Saturday 3rd December to pick up some great specials. No specials will be offered for phone orders and the prices are strictly only available during the advertised time.
Happy Shopping and Merry Christmas!

As I read it you will only take online orders on 3-4 Dec. Is that correct?
If so it might overload your system.

Hague
Where have you been while all the unhappy timbecon customers were wondering what has happened to service from you guys?
Can we trust you like we did over the free freight fiasco?
Don't get me wrong, we don't want to lose an Aussie supplier, but mate, have a read of some of your customer's views before you come on here asking us to support your Christmas (2 day only) sale.Cheers

I love supporting Aussie suppliers ..................... but please please please assure us that you have got all the kinks ironed out of your dispatch department.
I waited over 1 month for my last order and had to hound your staff to get things followed through!!!!! Good luck with your sale n hope the day is a success!!!

A good idea to post the message........if it were me......i would have also posted a link to the site.
The chances of me getting to perth are very limited.....i hope it isnt a case of "first in first served"
I take it that your email + phone will be manned around the clock for the duration of the sale?if you always do as you have always done, you will always get what you have always got

BTW If you lot read the other thread fully, you would see that Hague replied in full. You should make sure you follow up fully before you start mouthing off.Is there anything easier done than said?- Stacky. The bottom pub, Cobram.

Termite - yes its only over the two days. We have a Christmas special running at the moment anyway (which expires 31st December), but the sitewide thing is for the two days only. The website itself has great bandwidth and we're up to date in mail order so I seriously doubt a system overload. If it is "too successful" i'll work in mail order myself to get it all out ASAP.
Caliban - Personally i have been overseas for agges so I'm not sure what you're talking about exactly. We're up to date in our mail order department and i know of no real issues outstanding at the moment (we even found some new staff finally!!!) so I can't see a reason why we can't get it out early next week. I wasn't asking for support necessarily - leaving it up to each person to decide to take advantage of it. The specials are already loaded in now so it will just "activate" on the day. Its all primed and ready to go!
NewLou - if we're out (which isn't a great deal of the range at the moment) we'll email you and raincheck it.
maglite - the link is right next to the Christmas Sale title
Bodgy - Thanks for the kind words.

In the vein of this thread, and following my ShopVac blow-up (posted on this BB), Timbecon called me with an offer for one of their similar machines.
What had been $179 was (and is) offered at $99, so with freight and insurance came out at $119. This was early this week. The beastie was delivered today, and it looks nice (even if it is ORANGE), and is about 1/5 noise volume as the expired shop vac.
Generally, as I have mentioned here a few times, I have enjoyed reasonable service from Timbecon, although I would suggest that they look at their order status systems/processes, as if anything goes below the "radar screen" (eg > 1 week), then things do tend to get 'lost'.
Cheers!
PS can now spend tomorrow morning shop-cleaning.

Saying you've been overseas is a cop out. Do a search on these forums and look for Wild Dingo. What happened to him is a bloody disgrace.
Also I ordered (on line) one of your dust collectors. I'm still waiting. Several months and one phone call is enough of a chance. Guess what? I bought one from someone else. That is not service.
I really do hope you've solved your problems and wish you well, but unfortunately I won't be buying again.Cheers

Oh of course they still take it out of your credit card even though they haven't got it in stock. Maybe they should follow some of the booksellers, hit the customers credit card when and only when they are about to ship it.
Why is it the customer has to chase them ? What happened to being on the ball and letting the customer know whats going on before they start asking ?
Good start with the first stone but dissapointing service, dissapointing thereafter.

I asked them to send the first stone and send the 2nd when they get it and to let me know if there is a problem about that ......
Guess what STILL NO STONE and nothing back from them to tell me that there is a problem.
Simply stunning, I thought they were better than this but obviously I was wrong.
Hague maybe a review of the internal systems so that you don't hang the jewels out to be cut off by cranky customers.
Dissapointing Timbecon, Dissapointing.
Oh Hague, nothing against you though.
Andrew
