I grow trees on my farm in southeast Queensland and I was wondering about selling my timber through an agent, perhaps either in either Adelaide or Canberra. It would be only a very small concern, probably about no more than a cubic metre of logs a week. I would have the logs sawn up into boards and treated where necessary. I’d probably dry the wood here and then have it railed to my agent. The species would be made up of, hoop pine, silver ash, camphor laurel, and the occasional red cedar, flooded gum, and Gympie messmate plus one offs of other rainforest trees as they occur. Naturally the agent would have to have a knowledge of the selling of wood and the fixing of a fair market price. Payment would be by commission. Either the business could be handled by someone working from his back yard or alternatively added on to another existing business. Is anyone interested and would like to discuss the idea further? If so email me on
