Thanks for the heads up Jim!

Well, I must say that I haven't noticed much advertising regarding this event!

Mind you, I rarely watch free to air TV nowdays. I did start hearing it on the radio at work though!

    Found this

I will be there Friday for a gander, considering we are not having a T&WWW Show this year!

Any reports on how it went?

Unfortunately we had family visiting this weekend so a no go for me.

To be honest the marketing didn't strike the right notes for me. I had seen that there was a MBA Building & Home Improvement Show on but to me that generally relates to guys trying to sell spa's and saunas, alongside mop sellers and the bees wax shoe polish.

    The marketing blurb is:

This event is sponsored by Master Builders SA and showcases the leading suppliers in renovation and building products. You can see and buy everything you need to renovate, build or decorate all at one location, plus there's lots of great ideas, info sessions, DIY demos and expert advice.

Had I known CWS and local woodworking clubs were going to be there I would have put my attendance on the calendar before the family weekend was booked. I now recall when I asked why the woodworking clubs were not at the Working With Wood Show last year I was advised they attended the show a few weeks earlier (which must have been this one).

I assume that they are trying to attract the renovation crowd more so than woodworkers because it flew under my radar!
Now proudly sponsored by Binford Tools. Be sure to check out the Binford 6100 - available now at any good tool retailer.

To those who were asking where U-Beaut was and said we were supposed to be there.

No really I am sorry... Honest.

Nah not really. We were never going. Much cheaper to stay home and burn a bundles of $10 notes.

I made the effort Friday morning.

It was a rather small gathering, but made all the more special with Jim & Irene there!

I made a small purchase of glue and an Elegant Beauty kit with pen mill and bushes.

I hope Jim had enough sales to recoup his fuel costs?

Am considering a trip to Melbourne for the T&WWW show.

Probably not such a bad idea Tank. I think the only way most South Australians will get to see a genuine, full blown, Woodworking Show is to make the pilgrimage to Melbourne in October.

Make a weekend of it and have a ball. Spend an hour or so on the Forum Stand and get in for free. Tools, timber, machinery, accessories, demonstrations, good company, bit of bull sheeit, couple of nights out on the town, night at the theatre, fine food, fine wine. What more could you ask for.

Can't be all that hard to do, thousands come across for the footy on a regular basis.

    Cheers- Neil

Made this same mention to a lot of the people over there.

They all had the same excuse how do we get this past the ministry for finance, my answer bring her along for a second honeymoon

From what I understand there wont be a proper wood show in Adelaide again unless the sun shines in a different direction.

Last weekend was poorly advertised and not set up good enough for a wood show. A lot of the local woodies who knew about the show did not even turn up. Just goes to show how committed they are about having a show there. Even on friday when it was $5.00 entry.

Mark we just covered petrol costs. So see you in Melbourne
