Volunteer to show how good the Forums are at Sydney TWWW Show.
In case you missed the thread discussing the Woodwork Forums stand at the Brisbane TWWW Show and my thread asking for volunteers for a similar exercise in Sydney on 18-20 June, please read on!
We are about half-way to getting enough members to participate in manning the stand on all three days. All you have to do is answer questions from the public about the Forums, talk about what a great place this is, show how to use the Forums (maybe by posting questions they want answered), help people who want to sign up as members to do so and by generally being a good bloke (or sheila).
I am drawing up a roster. At the moment the slots are 1 hour and we want people to do at least a couple of slots. If you do, you will be working on a stand in the Show and Neil has organised FREE entry to the Show for those volunteers.
Come on guys and gals, pull your fingers out and have a go!
If you are interested, either reply here with your preferred time(s) (we can fit almost any combination of hours into the roster at the moment) or reply in my other thread, or send me a PM with your details. If we can't get enough people we will just have to let this goCheers
Jeremy
If it were done when 'tis done, then 'twere well it were done quickly

Personally I think that this is a great idea. I enjoy the forum and the interaction that this has allowed me to do. I was more then happy to put up my hand and volunteer for a couple of hours over the three days. Yes I am going to the show for three days.
I understand that sometimes people can be a little shy with speaking to others, how about this just stand there and smile, I recon that you will be amazed at how many people smile back at you.
As Jeremy has requested for more people from the forum to put up their hands and look after the stand for an hour or two. I don't think anyone will stop you from staying longer, but before this gets off the ground Jeremy needs a show of hands.

Pity I am so far from you otherwise I would gladly put
up my hand to assist.
I have done so at the last two Melbourne wood shows
and enjoyed every minute of it.
C'mon all, give it a go - it's good fun and for a good cause.

I'm not growing a beard though, so someone else will need to be "Mr beard, bib & braces".

Well here I am looking and waiting for the masses of Sydney wood working community to put up their hands in looking after the woodworking forum stand. We have less then a week to go and we are still short of a couple of places.
When I read that the Brisbane stand was going to be short I pushed those sweet Queenslanders on their thread to manning the stand and it seems that I am not able to encourage a few New South Wales people to help out.
What will it take a couple of Victorians and Queenslanders to post encouragement? Since when have we ever listen to other states, let alone Canberra.

Christos,
I'll be away Thursday through Sunday evening!
I hope it snows, just to really cap it all off, as I'll be sleeping outside.
Good luck with the volunteers... if it were Melbourne or Brissy you'd be swamped with offers.
