Hello All,

Although I have only recently joined this forum - specifically within the 'Woodturning Area' - I am also heavily involved with a Charitable Organisation based in Toowoomba that provides supported employment opportunities for people with disabilities (predominantly intellectual impairment) within a Timber Manufacturing and Timber Furniture restoration business. The business is called KBH Enterprises and has been providing employment for people with disabilities in the Toowoomba region since 1994; based in our workshop at 11 Grange Street, Toowoomba - feel free to have a look at our Website www.kbhenterprises.com.au or our Facebook Page to see the type of work that is produced by 'our guys'.

I recently posted in the 'Woodworkers with Disabilities' section of the forum and it was suggested by 'Wheelinround' to post here in the announcements section.

Over the last 12 months we have made some great developments within KBH Enterprises and we are continually trying to open our workshop to the wider community in order to make our business more inclusive and to show our supported employees that they belong to a community that supports people with disabilities. With that in mind, we are always looking for volunteers with woodworking skills to be involved within our workshop in order to mentor and continually develop the skills of our supported employees. Although many of our employees have been with us for 5, 10, even 20 years - they are always willing to meet with new people from the local community and they are always looking to develop new skills and seek new opportunities.

I realise that this post is already quite long - so I will stop it here. If you would like any more information, please don't hesitate to reply below or contact us via our Website or Facebook page listed above.

Thanks in Advance.

Paul
