Default Wood Borer is on the move

Well folks, Meg and I have had a gut full of the city and all that’s associated with the corporate world, brain dead money worshipping trendoids, traffic, pollution ………….

We have bought a new place up the bush out of Mansfield on a few acres, which we hope to move into around Christmas time.

We are in the middle of selling our place in Melbourne, the auction will be in October.

I am not retiring, just easing back on the throttle to give me more time for woodwork and to do more than leave home in the morning, work flat out all day and come home grumpy and tired with little time or energy for woodwork. There is more to life than living like that, we can afford to make the change so we are.

I will need to build a large shed and to buy some noisy dusty contraptions to mangle wood quicker so I can make stuff to sell for reasonable prices.

There is a self contained cottage on the new place which will be available for my woodwork mates to stay. Accommodation rates will be cheap, along the lines of a bottle of red or an armful of timber and you will be expected to tour the new workshop and talk about woodwork, tools, designs, techniques and projects and to enjoy the peace and quiet.

Hopefully members of the Bulletin Board will drop in to see us for just a cuppa or an overnight stay.

We are both very excited and looking forward to the move.

More details as the time gets closer.
    - Wood Borer

Good move WB, hope you & Meg enjoy the place. You must remember that not only can you never have too many tools, your shed can never be too big.

Looking forward to seeing pics and dropping in when we're down that way.

    Wood Borer,

It is good to hear that you have decided to take the plunge and be "On the move", unlike most Victorians, who prefer to be schizophrenic, and stay in "The place to be", as well as being "On the move".

    Mansfield is just before Womansfield.

Good one WB, hope it all goes well. (I looked on the net, can't see the Woodboratorium there yet)

I envy you, WB. I'd love to be able to get out of this hole that my town has become and get far away from all the state capitals.

Near Mt Buller on the way to the snow fields.

Cliff, snow is white wet cold stuff that falls from the sky in cold weather. Sure you have heard of it.

Good Luck WB think your doing what a lot of us would love to do.

    G'day Wood Borer

Congrats on the upcoming move. Be prepared to rug up for the cold nights. My family has a property at Swanpool which is about halfway between Benalla and Mansfield. There is some beautiful country out in that area.
    Cheers
