Default Wood Turning At - Sydney Royal Easter Show

I think I should have posted this earlier but alas I got distracted but at least it is not toooooo late.

Starting from the 1st of April(today) the Sydney Wood Turners Guild will have wood turners at the Royal Easter Show in the Art and Craft hall. The guild will only be at the Show for four days until the 4th of April.

As some of you longer members would recall I was one of the wood turners last year but kept it quiet as that was my first time turning in public.

Well this year I am scheduled to be turning on the 4th of April.

So feel free to swing by and watch something being created on the lathe.

As the 4th of April has already passed I thought that I might update on my experience at the Sydney Royal Easter Show. From the region that I am a member of there were a total of three of us. So we ended up going in one car. We were very early so we just started the setup when the other members of other regions arrived.

We were turning spinning tops, bud vases, small bowls and tooth pick holders. The main purpose of the day was to demonstrate wood turning by completing an object. As these were small they were turned quickly and handed to the people watching.

It rained all day and for me it indicated that the crowds would be small.

As this was the last day for wood turning we helped with the pack up. I had a fun time turning but I tend to not talk to much while turning.

Of course lunch was cheese on a stick and hot dog on a stick. This was the same thing that I had last year.
