Default Wooden Boats Association display Cairns 12/05

Noticed a couple of wooden boats and marquees in a yard when I was out running around today. Wandered in and asked what was happening. Seems a local businessman donated a small wooden building and materials for its refurbiushment to the local Wooden Boats Association. They're holding an open day tommorow. There will be displays/demonstrations by the local woodworking guild plus a swap/sell section and some boats on display. On Lyons street between SKF bearings and Coventry fasteners, 10am - 2pm. Be worth a look if you're in the area.

Went there after lunch as I had a fire brigade training session to attend. Caught up with a couple of people I hadn't seen in years plus I saw Cliff. Some nice boats to look at and some historical displays in the club house. The swap meet was over (probably just as well ). I've got a few other projects to knock over but when they're done I may join the WBA and start building my boat.

    Mick,

    Don't do it, it's a trap!

Before you know it you'll have unfinished boats all round you!!

    Yeap.

I turn up at lots (well, 3 at least )of their functions & they are trying to get me to join.... maybe one day, when I get through a couple more things I might have to build a PD.

I won't be able to get The Great Tinaroo Raid this year.

If you find a post of mine that is missing a pic that you'd like to see, let me know & I'll see if I can find a copy.
