Woodwork Shed project to go ahead despite funding cut
Support needed:
President of the Richmond Valley Woodcrafters Club, Jim Edwards, is calling for support from the woodworking community.
The Club kicked off last year, and currently has 60 members from around the region.
The Richmon Valley Woodcrafters Club had an application with the Federal Government for $ 48000, to build a 10 X 15 M shed, fitted with woodworking machinery, in the grounds of Summerland House With No Steps, for use by members who don't have a shed, and to train interested disabled employees of the House With No Steps.
Members were dissapointed upon receiving a letter advising that the funding application they had put in would go no further.
The Club had set a target of $105.000 to build the facility, but now the equipment planned for the shed will have to be reconsidered; it is estimated the fundraising target will have to drop to about $ 69.000, of which
$ 38.500 have already been raised.
The Club is now looking for support to see the project finished; anyone who has woodworking tools or equipment they don't need is welcome to contact the club, and donors can be assured it will be put to good use, either in the shed, or sold to raise money for the project.
For more information, phone the President of the Richmond Valley Woodcrafters Club, Mr Jim Edwards, on (02)66868892.
Many thanks in anticipation.

You should be able to find some funding
Subscribe to this mob's newsletter, there are many grants regularly available. Even if you use several various grants you should get there.

If you have a local Community Bank branch of Bendigo Bank it might be worth approaching them for a grant.

Don't know how far you have gone in trying to get grants but..
Try the banks as they have grants for community projects, and since you are going to train diabled persons in woodworking use that as a higly visable part when talking to the banks.
I was on the Management Committe of a community Day Care center and when we wanted to upgrade the outside play area we couldn't get enough Fedral and State funding, but we got funding from Wespac under some community involvement program.
Talk to your local member, Lions Club, Rotary Club as they might know of other sources of funding.
