I haven't given up hope of more screenings and better times just yet. The new guide arrived a day or two after my request so the programming had already been set.
I suggest that everyone on this forum put fingers to keyboard and send a burst to the Lifestyle channel.
Even If they replay some of the older seasons it wouldbe fine as I and I am sure many others have not seen all 15 seasons.
Remember, the squeeky wheel gets the grease.

I just sent off another burst about the show.
Katie, thank you for the reply,
I have noticed that the Sunday morning screening has been dropped, whats going on.
There have been 15 seasons of NYW surely your channel can pick up some some of the earlier seasons at a reasonable price.
This show is extremely popular with the large woodworking fraternity (sp) in Australia as it is the only full on woodworking show of its kind available on either pay or free to air. Unlike the enourmous number of cooking, craft and renovation type shows around at the moment.
I feel that you are missing out on an excellent oportunity to draw a large number of predominantly male viewers to your channel. That said however, my wife also enjoys the show as it gives her ideas for project she would like me to do.

Excellent idea about us all getting onto the Lifestyle Channel. Norm's programme is just about the only TV show that gives genuinely useful advice. My wife won't let me watch the home renovation (Death by MDF) shows because she doesn't like all the bad language - from me, not the TV.
I'll shoot off an email to Lifestyle immediately.

I sent an email to the lifestyle channel giving them my views on dropping the second screening of NYW. Received the following response today:
Dear Wayne,
Thank you for writing to The LifeStyle Channel.
We have had many requests for additional screenings of The New Yankee Workshop and your programming suggestions have been forwarded on and will be taken into consideration for future programming.
Please be sure to keep an eye out in future magazine guides for alternate times and new episodes of this popular program.
Thank you for your interest and I hope you continue to enjoy watching The LifeStyle Channel.
Kind regards,
Renée Cipollone
Programming Assistant
The LifeStyle Channel
We shall see if this is BS.......Wayne

LOL, that is the same reply word for word that I got the week before they canned the second screening.

Yup
Just received precisely the same verbatim reply from Renee. Isn't that truly bloody irritating? I don't believe for a moment that The Lifestyle Channel receives so much mail that they can't spend a little time thinking up a better response than a form letter. I know damn well that if we responded to customers that way in my business, we'd go backwards faster than the gold medal rowing eight at the Olympics.
Anyway, there's nothing to be served by just blowing off steam on the BB. I'll take a little time out to let Renee at The Lifestyle Channel know how I feel . . .
Let you know if I get a reply.

Well . . . I gave Renee a blast . . . nothing excessively impolite, you understand - just letting her know I wasn't too impressed with the formula response. I got a reply. here it is
Dear Colin,
As I hope you can appreciate we receive hundreds of emails and although I would love to spend more time being more creative with my reposnses, it is not always possible.
Our aim is to keep all of our viewers happy and by receiving feedback, we are able to better understand your needs. I can assure you that our programmers will be notified of your request for additional screenings of The New Yankee Workshop in our next monthly meeting.
I apologise that you did not feel my initial email was not personal enough. Please feel free to contact me if I can be of further assistance.
Kind regards,
Renée
I was almost ready to feel a bit guilty until I re-read the first paragraph. Why isn't it possible to be more creative? Or more responsive? Or more bloody helpful?::confused:
Anyway, we shall see if the next monthly meeting produces a response. (Why a monthly meeting? Wouldn't a daily meeting be more useful? That's what we do in my business - which, by the way, isn't a small enterprise - we probably employ more people than The Lifestyle Channel - mutter, mutter, grumble - think I'm getting old, I'm beginning to sound just like my Dad.
More of Norm - that's what we want!
See you later

Lifestyle channel told me that they now have seasons 12 and 13 (year 2000 and 2001), which is 26 episodes, so that should keep us busy until Feb next year.

Just received next months (September) guide, still only one episode per week, still at the crappy time of 09:30 Saturday I'm not a happy camper.
