Christopha - No one removed the edit option, members have 24 hours in which to edit their own posts, after that time they can only be edited by admin or moderators.
As Doorstop, you destroyed the trust given to you as an admin, you deleted yourself and 4 years worth of posts, ruined the continuity of many hundreds of threads, then you resurrect yourself as Christopha and expect that people aren't going to notice. I don't think so.
Not really something to be proud of or brag about.Been there, done that.... deleted myself!
Sorry Chris, but thems is just the facts.

PS Editing time for posts was extended about 12 moths ago from 30 minutes to 24 hrs to give members plenty of time to edit their own posts without interference from admin or moderators.
