Phil’s Pea and Ham Soup
Phil’s Pea and Ham Soup
Makes about 4.5 Litres of Soup
Ingredients
Two Ham hocks
500g Yellow Split Peas
Two Onions (diced)
Half a stick of celery (chopped)
3-4 Carrots (diced)
500 ml Chicken stock
Two table spoons of Tomato Paste
One teaspoon crushed Garlic
Pepper and Salt
Bit of dried Chilli
Two and half litres of water
Place every thing in a large pot and bring to the boil and then simmer till the meat leaves the bones (about two hours). Remove the bones leaving the meat and then put it through the vitamiser or blender. Top up the fluids and enjoy. Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I´m not so sure about the universe.

Sounds great Phil.
Here in South Australia, we sometimes sit a hot meat pie in the soup plate, then pour the Pea Soup on top, and give it a splash of that famous Australian tomato sauce that has a parrot on the lable.
Then you have a "Pie Floater".Buzza.
