    Default Pickled Jalapenos

Too often pickled Jalapenos from the shops are overcooked, over priced and sometimes taste funny. My only difference to this recipe; I roast my chiles on a skewer in the griller. I try for a bit of crunch when bitten.

Thanks for the recipe Ball Peen - I will give that a try next year.
Grew a couple of bushes last season and ended up with a a tall fowler full of sliced and pickled Jalapenos - looked great and tasted OK as well. Used all of the colours- red, green and black/green

Also made a roasted jalapeno jam/spread/salsa thing. Roasted and skinned the jalapenos (the big ones anyway - only roasted the little ones) then seeded and blended the remnants with seasoning and oil.
Came up with the most beautiful spicy/sweet/smokey flavour. Tasted sensational by itself on fresh buttered bread.

    Damm - now i feel hungry - bugger .
