High quality small knife block set
I'm looking for a high quality small knife block set (approx 3 or 4 knives + shears in a timber block.) There was a perfect Wusthof set at King of Knives but since last seeing it I have been informed by staff it is no longer in production. The RRP of that set was $300. I don't wish to spend any more than that on ANY set.
Preferably knives to be one piece construction, dishwasher safe etc
Any suggestions for brands / sets / where to shop / sales?
Cheers!

Try a culinary type shop that sells cooking items, although at that price you will only be looking at medium quality set, a Wusthof pro set 5 knives shears + steel will be app. $700

Yep I understand that.
Thats why I'm after a "micro set" of only 3 knives or so, and shears too if at all possible.

hilux, another place to look is Coles and Woolworths "I am deadly serious" they have full tang cooking knives that are very well priced, they would obviously be made in china, they are in the style of Wusthof, they don't come in a set but you could make up your own block. I have one as a knock around camping knife as I don't take the Wusthofs into the bush and I am suprised at how good it is, I think it cost around $30

Hilux,
I Might be a bit late, but there's 2 well priced block sets here, from respected brands.
You'll have to email them to get stock in, but the price is right!

One has a nice beech block, the other some Japanese style joinery. Another alternative would be the kyocera santoku and paring knife, which retails for around $110 and will do everything you need. Being ceramic, they're good for home use, but not for someone in the biz!
