slow cooker
It feels like winter so the slow cooker has come out of the cupboard and used last night.
Just did a steak and vegies, but at least only one pot and one plate to clean and it was very tasty.
will have to look at some recipes i think.Cheers Fred

Love, Slow cookers.
But then I am a lazy cooker.
Loving things, like, stews and curries.
I find the slow cooker "Great".

Had mine out yesterday, lamb in port. Very nice but didn't cook it too long, only 4 hours so it was still rare.

Tomorrow will be Ozzo Bucco, it's great done in the oven so i'm expecting really good results tomorrow.
Only have to decide whether to serve with rice or CousCous.
Decisions decisions.Cheers Fred

Mmm, Osso Bucco, I made it a week ago and just cooked it slow in the oven for about four hours. One of my favourite dishes. The only thing I don't like about my slow cooker is that it is a bit small. I cooked 6 lamb shanks and associated veges the other night and it wouldn't have fitted in the slow cooker so once again I cooked them in the oven.
I saw a real good recipe for lamb shanks cooked in red wine by George Colombaris not long ago so I might try that soon.
I also tried a real good recipe by Madhur Jaffrey who hosts the Curry Nation program that was essentially a lamb shank curry. Very spicy ( not hot ) and not to everyones taste but my other half who is not a curry lover absolutely loved it. Go figure as they say.
