Agree, quite an interesting lens. There is no mention of the number of aperture blades, which could tell one a bit more of the ability to obtain some interesting effects.
I compared my Nikkor 85 f/1.4 directly with the then new Zeiss 85 f/1.4 for the Nikon, effectively nothing in it, even though the Nikkor was between 15/18 years older. with the Nikkor (unofficially) an apochromatic lens and the new Zeiss being apochromatic. This 55mm lens would probably be the shortest focal length lens made, that is apochromatically corrected.
When doing colour work, aprochromatic lenses certainly do stand out head and shoulders above others. I assume with electronic imaging, which is the design purpose of this lens, it should be outstanding.
I still use film, so if one turns up with a Nikon mount somewhere near me, I would like to whack it onto a body and fire a few frames with it.
Free delivery in the USA, at that price, there should be enough spare dosh to cover that.
Mick.
