Tnx, Ray.
Used the "painting with light" technique to get the shot. Set the camera on the tripod, focused and set the f-stop, doused the lights, panned a flashlight beam to one side of the typewriter, released the shutter.
So, the daughter is a speed demon typist, huh? Good for her, but I'm sure Dad can run circles around her in other ways!!!Cheers,
Ed

Must be Cliff just showed Sue as she learnt to type on one and did her first few years using one of them and she noticed no carriage return.
Ed my daughter was I should have said with her fingernails as they are today touch typing would be out with those keys.

Story 'bout the remote, Cliff. I built a Multi-trigger box and then had to build an opto-coupler assembly to interface to the Nikon D3100 Focus/Shutter port. Problem with this is that Nikon had a better idea and flew in the face of convention by incorporating an unusual connector arrangement. So, in order to get the proper plug, I bought 2 Opteka OP-N3 remote switches. Whacked the PB assembly off one of them and wired up the cut off end to fit a stereo jack in the opto-coupler box. Just waiting for an IC for the assy to replace a defective one, then should be all set to trigger the camera shutter either with a photogate, or with noise. These kits are fun to build and you get something useful in the end.

Chinese one was it?
You write form left to right, so where on the line are you when you reach the end?
The right.
So where is the carriage?
The left.
So where is the carriage return lever?
The left.

Good photo.
It is actually a Carriage Return Line Feed lever but that is just a bit picky.Last edited by Cliff Rogers; 14th September 2011 at 01:24 AM. Reason: sticky key. :)
