The good and bad news
A few years ago I decided to get into the digital age as my Nikon 301s
(SLR film camera) was no longer being used.
I purchased a Kodak 2MP digital for $340 which seemed a fortune but
nevertheless it served me well.
A year ago the kids bought me a 10.2MP Kodak for $99 and I have been
happy with it. However I lost/misplaced it last October and have not
seen it since. It was great for inserting photos on this Forum.
This week I managed to successfully bid on the same model 10.2MP Kodak
camera on eBay for the vast sum of $5.50. Yes it works so I can now
get active again. Another case of yesterday's treasures being practically
worthless today.

If you still have the Nikon 301 and it works and you wish to rid yourself of it, I could be interested.
I still use film and run Nikon bodies (mainly) and having a light Nikon body like the 301 could be handy, even if it uses AAA batteries instead of AA.

The Nikon is still in perfect order and I really only get it out for a special occasion such as a family wedding. Just a pain in the backside having to travel miles from here just to get a 100 ASA film which I prefer. I still favour the quality of the photos from the Nikon.
I have just recently looked into the prospect of converting the SLR to a digital
but I need to speak with someone more knowledgeable before making a decision.
Thanks for your interest but will hold on to it for the moment.

Good luck with that project Alan, I think you're pushing the proverbial up hill with a wet towel.

Just a follow-up.
After almost five months a fellow Forumite contacted me to say
he had my camera together with a piece of wood I had given him
to try and identify.
The camera was in the same bag as the piece of wood and I had
not thought of that.
Glad to have it back -

George, a very generous offer, if however it is the Nikon 401, then as all of my lenses are Ai (Automatic indexing), I could not use automatic exposure TTL metering, which, although not really an issue, it wouldn't be ideal, so regretfully thanks but no thanks.
Sorry for the long wait, been away and whilst away, just happened to see one of these momentarily, bought it inside 5 minutes from go to whoa.

Scroll down to see some of the other pictures below the text, one gorgeous and extremely workable camera, already ran 4 sheets of film through it, no pinholes in the bellows and all movements are silky smooth, this little baby hasn't been worked to death like some I worked with a quarter of a century and further back.
It is exactly like what the picture shows. In another life I used these at my place of employment, along with it's bigger 8x10" big brother.

Mick
I just had a look at the camera and I was wrong it's 301. Not sure what the differences are.
