Default Batch resizing of camera photos

I use MS Office Picture Manager when viewing photos from my camera. Typically they are about 3MB in size, so I use the Picture Manager to edit and reduce each picture to the standard 1024 x 768 size before posting to my web server or emailing.

This is a very tedious process, one picture at a time. Does anyone know of any software that can do this in a batch mode , so that several selectd photos can be reduced in a single operation?
    regards,

    Dengy

If you use a Mac, this is a good one.

Irfanview for the PC can do it AFAIK. Free, quite good at other things too.

This one works well. Quick Image Resizer - Resize your digital photos and JPEG images

You can drag and drop as many as you like and then drag and drop the lot to where ever you want them

    As Rsser has already said,

Irfanview is an excellent piece of software and the price is right.
There are no bugs, nasties, phone homes or anything else.

Go to IrfanView - Official Homepage - one of the most popular viewers worldwide to download the software and make sure you get the plugins as well.

I'd also recommend IrfanView. It has been around a long time and I think it set the standard for many years. It even gets written about in commercial texts on image handling.

I use a little free program that does an excellent job at pic resizing called Pliska Image Resizer. It lets you set the maximum size of the largest dimension to a set pixel size then you select all the pics to resize & it saves the new resized files with whatever prefix or suffix u want.

    possibly too obvious ??
why not set your camera to take a 1024 x 768 (or thereabouts) picture right from the start, then there's no need to resize
