With our temperatures in the high 30s yesterday and again today just looking at the photos has made me feel cooler.
I have been intently looking at your shots on here over the last week or so and it has made me realise just how much I miss looking through the lens of my Pentax Spotmatic (yeh 1970 model all black) It was nothing for me to use 2 rolls of 36 Kodachrome in a weekend. My collection would have to be in the 10s of thousands. I had to stop using the camera when we could only buy 100 ASA or higher film. The quality of photos was not nearly as good as the slower ASA. But then the eyes deteriorated to the point where I couldn't see well enough to make adjustments in the view finder to focus. My wife was as keen as me then we both ended up not using our Pentaxes.
About 3 years ago she got onto a point and shoot digital and that resparked her interest to the point where she now has a Cannon 650D and often walks around the yard taking all sorts of objects then sometimes using Photoshop To "enhance" them. I am going to commandeer the Nikon and see if I can "get back into the game". I suppose the greatest thing about going digital is that there is no $ limit on the number of shots you can take. I will report back after the commandeering is finished
Trev, thanks for the great photos!!!!! Australia sure has some beautiful scenery and wildlife
    Just do it!

    Kind regards Rod

I see the boys have a really good thing going at the moment about the manipulation of images.
So I'd better say from the get go these pictures where taken with a polarising filter on the camera.
And I tweaked the colour saturation and contrast a little before posting as well.

I was back up at The Bay Of Fires today.

I found this one rock that I really liked the look of.
So I work it from a few different angles.

I managed to get a little action into the water in this last shot.
But it was far to bright on the day to stop down enough for a really nice effect.

    Never mind always another day!.

Nice work Trev. Of the first two I think the second is the stronger composition, but the first works well too.

The amount of movement in the last pic is just right - looks like a wave crashing over the rock. ¼ second?

The beauty of what you are doing is that in a while (maybe at the end of next winter) you'll be able to edit them down to a really strong portfolio of the place.

Mmmm. Post-thunderstorm light on a winter's arvo. Black cloud backgrounds, rainbows......to die for. Too often I see these conditions in dreary suburbia and can't do much about it.

It was pretty overcast down here this morning so I nicked over to the shore near my place.
With all of the cloud cover I was able to get some slow shutter speeds.

The waves weren't crashing in to hard so I got nice and close to a rock pool.
